about Lightroom4

Today I want to talk about this amazing program a bit and maybe introduce it to you for the first time... and although my Lightroom 4 class is geared towards scrapbook designers and how to photograph your pages, edit and watermark them in a few easy steps, this program is way WAY more than just that.

Let me tell you why I love it so much: I call it my workhorse. It lets me edit photos in batches... meaning that if I have 20 pictures that was taken of the same moment I can edit the first one... (adjust the exposure, add contrast, up the shadows, down the highlights) and then just click SYNC and it will edit all 20 right across the board.

In photoshop, to resize a photo or photos for facebook and any other platform, you have to do it one by one (unless you are running scripts) but in lightroom you can resize 269 photos with one click.
Add your watermark or logo to 269 with one click. (you can custom design a logo in LR)
Export 269 photos to one folder, renamed in sequence with one click.

Also, you can make the most beautiful story boards with lightroom. It works like magic as it uses "magnetic" alignment... so the photos "snap" together. LOVE THAT.

One of the main differences between Lightroom 3 and Lightroom 4 is LR4's amazing book module where you can create pdf documents on their variety of beautifully designed templates. (click the link to see more of the differences)

I really can go on and on all day. But I will show you in 11 videos and 1 hour and 45 minutes how to rock lightroom.

TODAY I am giving away one spot in my lightroom class. Just leave me a comment. and if you want to go ahead a buy the class, you can win your spot back.

also today on Paper Party you can see a tutorial of this page: (I created the blog board in lightroom4 under 30 seconds)

The winner of Amy Tan's class is: Patricia! Thanks for the chance at what sounds like a great class! peaname: momm

iheartblog: Worthy of love and belonging.

I read Brene Brown's book: Daring greatly and it's been one of the best things I have ever done for myself. All of a sudden I find myself journaling this truth that I learned on my scrapbook layouts over and over again: we are deeply flawed but worthy of love and belonging. The most important people we can tell it to is our kids. My sincere prayer and main aim in life is that my girls will not know this truth in their minds but their hearts.

And that's what this page is all about. I created it for Dear Lizzy's PaperParty blog and you can see a bit of my process here.

Currently, I am working on my first workshop with 2peas that will go live Feb 6th. It's such a fun creative adventure I have been on with the most unexpected of discoveries! I am enjoying every bit of it... even though right now, it means that I don't cook any meals or clean or visit. But this too shall pass and I hope that this workshop will cause colorful bursts of creativity in many a life.
