a moment of silence...

i love doing that!!. i bought these 2 designs and i just totally love them. so, be on the lookout!! it's a little bit warmer on paper but not in real life! we want to go skiing so badly. but it's so COLD! the mountains are so beautiful. it's a clear and sunny day. i think later today we will get our gear and head up the mountain (at sunshine) to ski some. please note... THIS IS NOT ME!!! bwaaaaahhaaa! i am the girl with all the kids that gets left behind!! no, i must not say that about myself. focus on positive thoughts... yea, this is me!! (bwwwaaaahahaha!) anyway, to continue in the spirit of my holiday... i have some more stuff to give away... say... THANK YOU ikea!!

these are the CUTEST little note books. i bought a few and today i am giving one away... so tell me... what is the most daring thing you have ever done?? I mean, for me to ski down a mountain rates up there!! i really really enjoyed this week and all your comments so far!! smooches from me to you!! i am sitting in a starbucks at the moment having a caramel macciado. yum. the sun is flooding the place and some christmas music is playing. this to me is bliss. then while i am about to say goodbye... i am asking for a minute of silence for my dear dog MATISSE that passed away today. he was 12 years old, a gorgeous and proud, loving big teddy- german shepherd. when we came to Canada i left him with my best friend Maryna. Ryna, big huggs to you, you were such a good moma to him. i love you girl. crying together.

can't wait to hear your stories!
love and a kiss

I'll have to think about the daring thing for a while.
But I wanted to say how sorry I am for the loss of your dog. Our animals are really part of our family too. I will be praying that that God eases your pain.

Most daring adventure? Well, I guess it might be this: http://lizness.typepad.com/photos/beacon_rock_trail_mini/acover.html

I'm afraid of heights (so going up this trail was pretty serious business for me). This last week, though, my sister went bungie jumping ... I'D NEVER DO THAT!

So glad you are having so much fun and I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing pets is hard -- they're really members of the family. So HUGS to you and your family!

Take care Wilna!

hello wilna..another South African in Canada here.Love your blog and your wonderful, uplifting words.

I have to say the most daring thing I ever did was go down that big slide, I think it's called the "temple of Doom..or Temple of courage", over at SunCity in S.A
It's that high, high slide and you're actually free-falling for a while before you hit the water...eeekk!! I'm getting goos-bumps just writing this!!!

Awww!! So sorry to hear about Matisse. Sterkte Wilna!

I think that the craziest, wildest, most daring thing that I have ever done is pack up my entire life, quit my job and leave all my friends and family behind in SA and follow my heart to Buffalo, USA on a prayer.
It worked out and I am blissfully happy!! (But I still miss my friends like mad!!)

I don't have a daring bone in my body...done some stupid things, but I don't think I'd call them daring! And I wanted to say I'm sorry you lost your pup - 12 years is a good life for a dog, but I know it's hard to say goodbye.

Hi Wilna

Haven't really done anything that daring. Getting on an aeroplane is daring enough for me. I hate flying and flew up to JHB from Durban in SA to attend the scrapbooking conference there. I think that's quite an achievement for me. So sorry to hear about Matisse. My heart goes out to you. He was lucky to be able to share his time here with you and Maryna. Enjoy the skiing.

Hmmmm the most daring thing? Oh I know....yeeehaaaa just thinking about it freaks me out, I still can't believe I did it. One Dec we went to Zimbabwe for a fishing trip (....love fishing) on a house boat on Lake Kariba. For those who don't know where that is...it is in the South of Africa where lions, hippo's, hyhenas and every animal God created, barr kangaroos and the likes, walk around freely. The ones that give me the creeps the most, has got to be the 4-5m long zambezi crocodiles, who happily frolick in Lake Kariba like it is their own plunge pool in the back yard and are always hungry. Well.. our skipper for the week dared us to swim, without a cage, off the side of the boat, in the middle of the lake. I thought to myself..."how hard can this possibly be?", so with false braveado, I jumped in. In the split second I hit the water I regretted it, hugely! A hundred scenarios flashed through my mind about the montsers lurking in the depths beneath my feet and according to my family who were watching this from the boat (laughing hysterically I must add), I somehow grew wings and almost flew out of the water back onto the boat. It took 10 cold showers just to get my racing nerves back to normal. Heck I never want to ever do that again but then again I am not much of an adrenadlin junkie, so chances are I probably won't. Well thanks for persevering with my epic saga, I hope you actually get onto the slopes.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Byeeee

The most daring thing...hmmm...I am somewhat afraid of heights but have always wanted to go parasailing...so in May of 05 I did while in Barbados...and it was the most beautiful and quiet and peaceful thing...not scary at all. So glad that I did it!

Less active but I've also had a few daring conversations with people I love...you know, about the tough issues that are hard to begin but you feel convicted to share! Those may be more daring than parasailing!

I like the having a baby without an epidural or any kind of drugs, I have done that! But I would have to say the most daring thing I have done is spend a day with my husband and some other family mountain biking down Silver Star mountain in Vernon, BC, one summer. I really had to have been out of my mind to do it. And near the end of the day, it wasn't me that broke something, it was my husband! He wiped out going down the mountain, flew over my brother and broke his collar bone and rolled down the mountain. I said a prayer of thanks to God that we made it through that day alive! I don't think I would ever do it again, because of the danger! But it was a lot of fun! LOL!
