Tuesday... let's roll!

.

This past weekend was a long weekend and that's why I was so quiet. A lovely long weekend. So now I am back and ready to roll. Do you know why I love Making Memories so much? they send me extraordinary goodies. Last week I got two boxes full of the absolutely fabulous noteworthy series. gasp. beautiful. 2 boxes. Imagine that. So, I am in such a share mood that I thought I would RAK someone. Yes. happy day. What a noteworthy day!

So, if you would like to play, leave me a inspiring comment. Remember that my word for this year is inspire. Any quote or thought or Word that inspire you, please share. I plan to do something interesting with it.

This weekend we had quite a social time and I loved having friends over and cooking. Setting the table and just let them feel welcome and relaxed. I took a few pictures still playing with manual settings and this one captures the mood beautifully. I got the candle holders from Winners. Which opened in Prince Albert a week ago. (yipppppie).

Then this week is parent viewing week at the dance studio. We have a big dance studio and between my 3 girls we have 9 classes. I took some pictures yesterday at Tia's jazz class. The dance not only gives my girls joy but me too. I LOVE watching them and I am sure I am their biggest fan. Tia only started jazz this year and she is amazing. But then she is doing grade 4 RAD ballet too. I am sure that helps.

I want to leave you with a thought. Psalm 121 says I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains? No, my strength comes from God, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains. He won't let you stumble, your Guardian God won't fall asleep. Not on your life! Israel's Guardian will never doze or sleep. God's your Guardian, right at your side to protect you— Shielding you from sunstroke, sheltering you from moonstroke. God guards you from every evil, he guards your very life. He guards you when you leave and when you return, he guards you now, he guards you always.

Play with today (the RAK), smile and have a great day.
Love and a kiss
Wilna

as a schoolgirl, I had one year where I decided to include a quote with each task. One quote that has remained with me, since then is;

"be strong in thought, and gentle in action".
(wish I could remember & spell the full latin version)

PS tomorrow is sure to bring some more to mind!

What inspires me? People who have FAITH and PERSEVERANCE. When your life is not making you happy, you must have the FAITH to know that God has a plan for you and the PERSEVERANCE to keep on going on the right path. It has changed my life. Great post today!!! Love the scripture!

What inspires me is my son! He is 8. Everyday I can't wait to see his smiling face and hear "I love you to the sun & back" which I reply to "I love you to the moose & back" (moose is what he called the moon when he was 2). Those are the most precious & inspring words to me. They remind me everyday to be the best mom I can be & they get me through all the days!!

Hi Wilna! How exciting for you to get two boxes of MM stuff! My favorite inspirational quote is "Today is the first day of the rest of your life." I love this quote because it reminds me that it doesn't matter what happened yesterday or months or years ago - today is a new start! Living by this quote each and every day helps me when I've had a bad day or when I need to be reminded that what I do today really matters!

Thanks for the chance to win some candy.

Inspire the inspiration...

My girls LOVE to look ahead - Waaaay ahead. Which can be fun but too often it's 'I can't wait for Easter' when it's Halloween or I can't wait for Christmas at the 4th of July. So my favorite phrase has become Live TODAY. Yes, it began more as an admonishment and directive to my girls, but I have taken it to heart. It is SO easy to get caught up in what is due tomorrow, next week, the holiday 5 weeks from now (i am constantly guilty of "must-do's"), that we pass by the sweet moments, the opportunities to notice God's beautful world or the light in our children's eyes, to give or listen, to make someone else's life a little better today. Planning and looking ahead is neccesary, but what can you do to really LIVE TODAY?

"The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up." A saw this quote by Paul Valery a few years ago and this made me change the way I live my day every day now! A little bit blunt... however it's true, Dream and then take action to make them happen! Don't just let the boat pass beside you.... JUMP on it! Take charge of your life.... This is what a base my life on, every day... and I know that life can't not always be pink and in a nice fluffy cloud, however when you make the proper steps to bring you closer to a dream, what an accomplishment it is after!

I am a quote junkie, so I'm always on the look out for words that touch me to the very soul of who I am. I have three to share with you that have touched me this year...
This helps me to remember who is REALLY in control of my life!!
It is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces. Bridget Jones Diary

Truth is a deep kindness that teaches us to be content in our everyday life and share with the people the same happiness. Kahlil Gibran

"This beautiful moment
Take in the beauty of this moment and let it fill you. But do not try to hold it.
For as soon as you seek to possess it, the beauty is lost. When you grasp it too tightly, you lose the ability to experience it.
Let this beautiful moment flow toward you, and then let it flow away from you as the next moment comes to take its place. Allow the beautiful experience of life to be born again and again.
The real value of this moment is in the way you live it. Live it fully, lovingly, gratefully, and there is no need to hold on to it, for the best of it will always be a part of you.
Each moment offers its own special treasure. Let go of your need to judge, to analyze, to possess, and simply experience the wonder that is yours right now.
You are free in this moment to live, to create, to give, to grow. Lovingly open your eyes to the abundant possibilities, and dive gently into this beautiful moment."

This always inpire me. Thanks for your blog

My favorite quotes:

"Look upon your chastening as God's chariots sent to carry your soul into the high places of spiritual achievement.”

Wilna, I love watching my daughter dance too! She does Irish dance and ballet/tap. It is joyous to watch indeed!

I love that inspiration comes sometimes when we least expect it to. I know that I have dragged my feet at times- to go to events, to be diligent with quiet time, to seek Truth, to want to move outside my 'comfort zones'. But the surprising thing is that in almost every instance I am moved and better because of it. It is teaching me that learning, that growing is opportunity for inspiration. I have held back for too long...and mostly through the scrap community and the friendships I have developed as a result have been the key in helping me see inspiration is everywhere! I love it. It makes the world a more beautiful place- no matter where I am. Creating has opened my eyes and heart to the opportunity of being inspired. Wherever it happens. Every single day.
I think you are sooo right. A day in which we have opportunity to inspire another is truly a day well lived.
Happy Tuesday!

I teach, therefore I touch eternity!
I am constantly inspired by children, Those I see around me in the Malls, those I teach and the wonderful children and grandchildren God has blessed me with.
My biggest inspiration has to be my youngest DD. She suffers from epilepsy and has never let that be an axcuse to be anything but her very best. She is a national waterpolo player, after the doctors told her she should not do water sports!
She shares her talents with younger children through coaching and she takes such wonderful pride when one of HER players succeeds.
In her youg life she has had to overcome so much! She has had to deal with pejudice in sport and the jealousy of so many of her competitors. Instead of letting that get her down, she has used it to become an even greater sportsperson and human being - her favourite quote?? The one by Gary pkayer - The harder I practise, the luckier I get.
On one specific occasion, somebody was REALLY horrible to her at school and this incident cost her almost everything she had worked so hard to achieve. A few weeks later this specific girl copied n a test at school, was caught and nothing was done about it. As her mother I was outraged and let rip at home - about the unfairness of it all and how I was going to make sure this girl pays for what she had done ( Makes me ashamed when I actually put it down on paper!) My dearest child sat there looking at me and eventually put her hand on my arm and said, with a wisdom far beyond her 17 years: " Mommy, do you really want this girl to hurt as much as I do? Would that make you feel better?"
It was at that moment that I knew, This child of mine can teach me so much, she was hurt so badly and yet she felt compassion for the very person responsible for her hurt! I knew that this was no longer just her, but God himself trying to tell me to stop, think and forgive!
I could name so many occasions where I was inspired by a child to look at life differently but that would take up too much space.
Just know, if you need to know how to live, love and forgive - ask any child!

First of all thank you for the word of the day! Psalm 121 was my Grandpa's favorite psalm and he read it to us everytime we would leave his house for the 6hr journey home. I could tell that this psalm was very real to him and that he lived it! He went home to Jesus in September and is missed. My inspiration is something he said to his pastor "I had a conversion experience and never got over it". My Grandpa got saved as a young man and loved God all the days of his life and you could tell. He was an inspiration.
Hope you have a wonderful day Wilna. May God bless you as you bless us! (Thanks for being so generous with your MM stuff)

"If you want your dreams to come true......don't oversleep!" That inspires me to live life to the fullest every day!!! You inspire me with your art and your wonderful messages from His word! Old people, babies, nature......so many things inspire me! Knowing that God loves me so much that He sent His son to die for me inspires me to be a better person! The cross I wear on a chain around my neck reminds me of that every day.....

Have a blessed day!

Finding so much inspiration on your site tonight. Thank you.

My latest mantra is: "Life is short; Create joy" and it has motivated me so much this year. To give more in the moment, to make the best of a situation instead of giving into a mood or complaining. It is up to me to decide and create the mood if I want joy.

Hi Wilna

I read this this morning and it inspired me to look at the challenges in my life in a different way altogether. Thanks for inspiring all of us.

THE BUTTERFLY...............
One day while walking through the woods, a man found a cocoon. He decided to take the
cocoon home to watch its transformation into a beautiful butterfly. He gently placed it on
his table and watched it for several days.

One day a small opening appeared and the cocoon started to move. The old man
sat and watched it for several hours as it struggled and struggled to force its body
from the cocoon.

Then it seemed to stop making progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could
and was unable to go any farther. Finally, the old man feeling sorry for the cocooned
butterfly, decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the
remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then easily emerged.

But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the
butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand
to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen
body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon
and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening, were God's way of
forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings, so that it would be ready for flight
once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God allowed us to go through
our life without any obstacles, it would only cripple us. We would not be as strong as what
we could have been.......

.......AND WE COULD NEVER FLY!!!

Hi Wilna

Just back from a wonderful holiday at the beach (San Lameer)... so I am well rested, which is strange for this time of the year when most people (including me!) are normally tired & exhausted. I scrapped quite a bit on holiday, which got my creative juices flowing again...
My life motto has always been:
Life is like a mirror:
If you frown at it, it frowns back.
BUT if you smile at it, it returns the greeting. (unknown).
I really try to life by this, and it inspires me to see the best in every moment and every situation, and to stay positive.
Love

Hi Wilna,
My children are my inspiration. They inspire me to be a better person every day. I'm a better person now than I was before God entrusted their little lives to me and for that, I am eternally grateful.

I want to create a layout with a photo of the three of them together and title the layout,
"My Gift to You is Each Other" I tell my three sons all the time to be good to each other. After I'm gone, they'll still have a piece of me left in each of them. So the best gift I could give to them is each other, to be there for each other, to weather life's storms together after I'm gone. (Well, besides sharing my faith with them, of course!)

You are also an inspiration to me. I love that you put Christ first in everything that you do and I love that you're reaching so many people through your he{art}.

My children inspire me to BE the BEST every single day. I live to hear my daughter say sentences like- "Amma, since I had some good, healthy food today may I please, please have some junk now." I'm also inspired by this- Yesterday is in the past, tomorrow is not yet here, so make the most of today, that's why it is called the 'present'.
