oh and some Tree63 from iTunes. I have been baking cookies and south african rusks (this link is not the recipe I used but just to give you an idea what this is) the whole day. Well not the WHOLE day... only this afternoon. But I am very sweet and smell like home. I did visit my dentist this morning and for the first time in a long while I left there without a next appointment. It's called relief.
I am so overwhelmed with God's goodness and grace today. Sometimes I am so hungry for the Word I feel like when I am at the movies and it's dark. Then I see how much popcorn I can get into my mouth at once. (well Jaku does it too!) So, in my walk with God I do learn the unforced rhythms of grace. That grace also means the merciful kindness by which God exerts His holy influence on souls and turns them to Christ, keeping and strengthening them. And there is the good news again. It's not in our own strength...for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in us [energizing and creating in us the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight. In one sentence the good news is this: it all starts and ends with Him. Our only requirement is that we say YES!

Hi Wilna! Kan ek jou gou jaloers maak? Ek sit gemaklik, en as ek my kop optel, het ek 'n amazing uitsig oor die see! Dis nou wel grys en reenerig, al v Vrydag af, maar ons RUS en hou heerlik vakansie by SanLameer, tussen Margate & PortEdward. My ouers is saammet ons hier, en my broer-hulle is in 'n ander huis, ook hier, en my suster-hulle kom vir Kersfees by ons oorslaap, hulle is in Balito, nie ver v hier. En ek het tyd om te scrap - so lekker! Vanmiddag het ek en my ma 'n 'date', dan gaan ek haar wys hoe om 'n paar kaartjies te maak. Sy wil al lankal 'n bietjie leer. Kids is baie soet, kyk heeltemal te veel TV (hier is sateliet, wat ons nie by die huis het nie, so dis 'n 'treat'), maar "sakie makie", dis VAKANSIE!

Everytime I come here I receive a special gift. Today it was remembering that God is a God of grace, kindness, and strength. In the midst of some hard news today this is just what I needed the most!
