back to "normal"

Listening to this music right now. Counting on God. One of the coolest songs ever. Go and listen. I bought the album of iTunes this morning. And believe me, I will be listening to this song over and over until I know it!!
Life is back to normal. Husband is at work, kids at school. My to do list is one page long. YAY! And I have been soaking at God's feet this whole week and it's a beautiful thing: it brings peace and joy unspeakable. I want to share with you something that has blessed me so much!
Sometimes we have so many questions for God... where am I going, what is my life purpose, what do you want me to do? All these questions just rose up in my heart this week more than before. When you earnestly seek God, the Bible says that you will find Him. Some people ask me how do you hear God's voice... well, it's not rocket science... just a knowing that comes in your heart. A very still small voice. Sometimes reading the Bible and a verse that jumps off the page and you just KNOW that God is speaking to you in your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation (psalm 103:5). So I was reading Psalm 106 after asking Him all these questions and verse 13 just jumped at me. It says But they hastily forgot His works; they did not [earnestly] wait for His plans [to develop] regarding them. You know, in that moment I just knew that God was telling me to be quiet and confident in Him and to trust Him regardless of the circumstances that His plan for me is developing.

You see, we often pray God's will be done and then we sit back as if our own actions and attitudes have absolutely no effect on our destiny. Not so. The fact that God says the plan is developing means that I have an active part to play. After all, He gave us a choice. My choice might not be the final plan... but it definitely is the personal responsibility to expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship] (Isa 30:18). To keep peace, humble myself before Him, We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity. (2 Cor 10:3-6). Note that Paul says We use and not God uses. I think so many times we as Christians take the responsibility of working out our own salvation too lightly.

In closing, I realize that our prayer should be that our life will bear not 30, not 60 but a 100 fold fruit to God's Word. God cannot decide that for you. Only we can. BUT we cannot do it in our own strength. Thank God for that. We just have to be willing. Then He adds His power to our willingness. And THAT is the most beautiful thing in all the world.

Have a wonderful day. Know that God is near you, on your lips and in your heart.
Love
Wilna

Hi Wilna,
I just led a silent retreat last weekend...my heart was asking God the very same questions you were asking Him, "What is Your plan and purpose for THIS TIME in my life?" and I needed to quiet the busyness and hear him in the still, quiet whisper that His word says He speaks...our scripture for the weekend of silence and solitude was 1 Kings 19:11:

"The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by."
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind.

After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake.

After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire.

And after the fire came a gentle whisper.

When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

Two things struck me while reading this passage: 1)ironically many of the aforementioned "natural disasters" are in todays culture declared, "Acts of God." The scripture clearly says "God was not in the wind/earthquake/fire"

2)When God whispered, Elijah KNEW/recognized the voice. The Hebrew translation for the word "Whisper" is actually closer to "nothing" or "silence." So God was literally heard IN THE SILENCE.

Wow. A great reason to unplug, turn off and "tune in" wouldn't you say?

Thank you Wilna for giving me the words I needed to hear; I am going thru a very difficult struggle right now; am in litigation due to an former associate who embezzled thousands upon thousands of dollars from me and my other associates. It is very ugly, and I can't get into it here. Please pray for me. Although I know Jesus is right here beside me thru my troubles, it can be so hard. You words are comforting.
God Bless you.
Your sister in Christ,
Rosa.

Since meeting you in Nashville, you have been a true blessing to me. It is so wonderful to meet someone who loves the Lord and is not afraid to let others know it, too. Thanks you for your heart-warming words.
