i *heart* google reader

I discovered google reader a few weeks ago and I cannot begin to tell you how cool it is, how MUCH I enjoy reading blogs lately and how often I read them now! I want to introduce those of you who was just like me... totally a-clue-istic about this RSS feed stuff to google reader today and I hope it makes your life easier and WAY more enjoyable!

This video helped me understand a lot. It's only 3 minutes but amazing.

Then I suggest that you get a google account. It's easy and free and if you have gmail, you have a google account.

Now google "google reader"

Now you have your own blog page where you can add all your favorite blogs and everyday You can only open your google reader page and see which of your favorite blogs updated. I read the blogs on my google reader page and if I want to comment, I click the arrow and go to the blog.

Click the image to see better.
Now, if you want to take it one step further, google "igoogle" and now you can have your own homepage with your region's weather, I even have a RRS feed of the comments that you leave on my blog that goes to the igoogle page, I have CNN headlines and time with a calender too... you can drag and drop things where you want it, select background paper and also add gadgets. Even my google inbox is on my igoogle page so with one view I can see new comments to my blog, which of my favorite blogs updated and if I have mail.

Click the image to see better.
If you want to subscribe to my blog for instance, you can click the "subscribe to posts" thingie in the left sidebar. Now in the drop down menu, select "add to google" and it will give you a choice to add my blog to a) your igoogle page or b)google reader. I suggest google reader. If you have your own blog, you can subscribe to your comments in igoogle.

ANY QUESTIONS/suggestions? I am here to help. Sigh, I *heart* google

A thought for today: Luke 9: 1-5 Jesus now called the Twelve and gave them authority and power to deal with all the demons and cure diseases. He commissioned them to preach the news of God's kingdom and heal the sick. He said, "Don't load yourselves up with equipment. Keep it simple; you are the equipment. And no luxury inns—get a modest place and be content there until you leave. If you're not welcomed, leave town. Don't make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and move on."

Love and a kiss

I too *heart* Google reader. I now read about 40 blogs a day...(or at least keep track of 40 blogs a day) and LOVE it for finding out who has updated and such. My igoogle page is perpetually changing...Dale Chihuly's glass art was my first theme, now I am happily looking at the artwork of Carrie Chau! SOOOOO adorable! I have the weather, an etymology dictionary, the BBC news, NPR Pop Culture news, Inspirational quotes and pictures, and the Sacred Destination of the day. It's great to have it all on one happy page! YAY! GOOGLE, thou art genius!

i have had you in my google reader for ages. i blogged about google reader a while ago, and those who tried it, are all happy. the only disadvantage is that if you are offline for a few days, for whatever reason, you come back to find lots and lots of new posts in your reader. and i feel obliged to read them all...

but it does let me keep up with more blogs in less time.

you do realise that if i read your blog in my google reader, you do not get the 'hit'?
