Determined.

I think my problem with life is that I am too happy. but my state of continual contentment seldom propels me to achieve more and to do more. I am just so satisfied with the littlest things... like a banana muffin the mornings. My husband knows it takes so little to make me happy. Therefore... I chose DETERMINED for my word this year. It's a word that would cause me to focus more. To actively seek and look for God.

de⋅ter⋅mine

The template I used is a freebie this week on Designers Digitals. I just adore Ali Edwards Templates. I can honestly say that her templates opened up the world of digi scrapbooking for me. For that I will always be thankful.

This month I want to write a few posts on Righteousness. If you could never "get" why the Gospel of Jesus is called the good news, then I think it will mean the world to you. I could never get it. It's called the good news but I never felt continually happy or excited about my faith. And then 4 years ago, I caught the joke (like a good friend love to say) and I can honestly say that when I understood righteousness, the gospel became the best best best news I ever heard. In fact, I still often think about it and think... this is TOO good to be true. When you understand it in full, you will know why Paul wrote my favorite word in all the Bible...Phil 3: 8 I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.

If you made a page with your word, please let me know to check it out.
Happy New year.
Love

Love your word, Wilna. Mine is simplify. Funny thing is, it is motivated by my desire to focus more on Him and the path I am following with Him. So, it seems we are on the same road together. It makes me glad to know you are there, too!

=) Love and hugs, my friend!

You challenge me with this layout. I don't think I have ever slowed down long enough to think this deeply about a word or goal for my year. I am reminded of the old saying, "If you aim at nothing you will hit it every time." Perhaps it is time that I slow down and give this some serious thought. Thank you for sharing your heart and inspiration.

Wonderful. I am still working on explaining my word on my blog and my LO, but I chose Flourish this year.
Had to comment on being Happy - I am that way too - easy to lease with just the little things, and I have two thoughts there: while I think your word/goal for the year is admirable and wonderful, there's nothing wrong with being happy and easy to please. You are a busy Mom who obviously takes great care in caring for your family and providing what they need now. And, in being so easy to please, I think it gives you a better ability to give of yourself, than it might be for someone who is not, or is too focused on self.

One last thing - I haven't seen anything about a Valentines Class this year - just had to ask if you were going to do one, though I am guessing we would have heard by now. I already have plans to reuse several of your ideas from last year.

Great word! I was actually very inspired by the word you originally contemplated: {PURPOSE}. That word really spoke to me. It is so apt for where I am in my walk with Christ. When I read that you had chosen another word I decided to make {PURPOSE} my word (hope you don't mind). So thank you for originally thinking of {PURPOSE}. I'm still working on a layout for my word but will link you up when it's complete.
