being chatty.

SARA! You won the RAK! And the good news is that I have another RAK today! So talk to me again and you might win!
And Melissa: The link to your blog has been on mine forever... I just ordered my links with a proper link list his time around! I LOVE my wacom tablet. I made the new blog banner with it: the my heart part. I love the fact that you can "draw" with a light or a heavy point depending on how hard you press. Super cool. I also made my name at the bottom of the posts with the wacom. I got the idea for the transparent overlay from the Georgette Heyer Books i love so much: I kept looking at them (i almost have them all) thinking how cleverly the covers were designed this time around! I loved the title on a semi transparent pane with the images in the background. Then it hit me one night to make a banner in the same manner!

Today it's raining here. I love rainy days. Then I love to cook good food and bake scones or buns so the whole house smells like heaven. Oh did I tell you how MUCH i loved Julie and Julia? lots and lots and lots!!(ETA, i didn't like the book at all, couldn't get past the first few pages. Problem: Language + crudeness = not for me. See my comment in the comments section) Anyway, while we as mom's are doing all this remember that God is not far from us. We can talk to Him all day long and be intimate with Him. He is closer to us than our heart beat and the air we breath. We can praise Him when something makes us happy or is beautiful, and present our supplications to Him when we need something or are worried. In other words, it's called praying all the time. Or can also be called the unforced rhythms of grace. That's how i do it. It's easy and fills me with Joy. It reminds me of Matt 11:28 that I have quoted SO many times here: Matt 11:28-30"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." and to conclude, read what Jesus said to the Samaritan woman: John 4:23-24"It's who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration." Is that not good news? Religion wants to add so many rules and regulations to our intimacy that if we just stop and ask ourselves WHY we are doing it we will many times answer because so-and-so said. But worship that's simply and honestly YOU before God is what he wants.

well, enjoy your day. remember I have another RAK (random act of kindness) for today so talk to me!

I bought the book Julie&Julia and am going to take it on vacation in a few weeks when we go to the Grand Canyon. :) I'm going to wait to see the movie til after reading it- I think! :)

I actually wrote a long post but then erased most. I LOVEd the movie and also bought the book... but the BOOk was awful!!! It was crude & full of f-words. I only read a few pages and the didnt'want to read anymore. I am so happy I saw the movie (with only one f-word at a very very funny & appropriate moment) So dont judge the book by the movie. the movie get's 10/10 and the book 1/10. SERIOUSLY!

Love the new blog look, so clean and cheery. I am anxious to see Julie and Julia. I think I have talked my hubby into going. I have heard lots and lots and lots of great things about the movie from those who have seen it. I would love to smell your house today...sounds like many, many, many good smells all rolled into one. It is still hot here--too hot to do much with the oven, but this afternoon I was home with my granddaughter so I lit some candles and made some coffee to make some cozy smells. The days are coming when I can comfortably bake again :o)

Usually I like the books better...neat to hear the movie is better this time. It happens once in a while!
What kind of books does Georgette Heyer write? I havent read her...always looking for new stuff to read.
I figured you made that heart with your bamboo...its very YOU! :)

I so agree about just talking to God all the time, any time. I love that. And I tell him, thanks for listening, thanks for never giving me a busy signal. I just pray my kids will connect with him that way too.

I love talking to God all day. If it wasn't for Him there is no way that I would be able to handle the things going on with my children.

Wilna I love your blog! The new look is wonderful but more than that is the content you share. Your love of scrapbooking combined with your faith is what is so powerful to me. Love everything you do! Thank you!

Are you serious! You have rain today? It was 105 here today (S. Oregon) we went to the community pool with some friends and played all afternoon. My daughter gets to perform her gymnastics routine at the county fair this evening. Summer is going out with a bang for us. Next week we are touring the San Juan Islands. -Alisa

I absolutely loved your post today, the word and how you explained it really touched me. I have to say it was very enlightening... a real Aha moment... yes that is exactly what Religion, our own personal relationship with God should be. Tx ever so much for the post today.

Your blog is looking simply gorgeous! The header is stunning - you are a clever clever lady!

J&J is on my list of movies to see - also struggled with the book. Glad to hear it's worth it.

And your verse from Matthew was just what i needed to read this morning. Thank you so.

Thank you so much for the RAK! I'm so excited! I haven't had any new scrapping stuff in a while!

I read four books while on vacation, James Patterson's Swimsuit, Melissa Gilbert's Prairie Tales, Randy Pauch's Last Lecture, and a trashy novel Chosen to Die (on the best seller list). I have three more days of reading next week...I'll have to see what I have available left to read!

Amen sister! Amen again.
Praising God is like breathing. And when it rains..i just sing and praise God. Somehow i am used to sing that song : "Father God". You know that one? It is the song that the band played when i was babtized. And now, everytime when its raining, i just sing that song!

Be blessed!

Hi there Wilna,
As you know I have been following your blog for a very long time. I would love to meet you in person & believe that one day that will happen ;-D but even if it's in heaven it will still be great (or perhaps greater LOL). Your blog is always an oasis for me. Everything you create is always so beautiful & authentic. Your blog name (my heART) is so clever & appropriate. I'm sure your RAK must be over by now but still wanted to pop in to say hi as I've been MIA for a while. I have your blog on my blog list but the frustrating thing is with your blog it does not show me when you have updated (but it does with all the others) I think it may be because you have customised your blog - not sure. Anyway just to let you know that you will always have me as a very big fan!
