A few quick (and good) reads...

When we were students (Jaco in med school and me in fine arts) we had wonderful friends. Actually is was a wild array of friends: some from art school with their long wild hair and steel tip cat shoes. Some were very analytical and melancholy medical students. One of them was just his own person: straight forward and  sometimes a bit absent minded. He was also a medical student and went on to become a surgeon. We lost contact as so often happens in South Africa, the newly qualified doctors are sent out all over the country to work in Government hospitals for 3 years. Imagine my surprise when i discovered that he (Bongi) was an avid blogger and more than that: he was a 2009 finalist in the medical web blog awards. I started to read his blog and i am almost done reading every word. His stories are candid, funny, sad and all array of emotion in between. It's a wonderful insight into medicine in South Africa from the perspective of a surgeon. It's so well worth reading. Go and check it out.

Then I also read this post from one of my favorite blogs (hear Him) and i was so struck by the way the author explained the good news it actually brought tears to my eyes. One of my favorite parts was this: before the foundation of this world, He saw you in Christ. At this point, He made up His mind about you! No matter what detours, no matter what contradictions would come, He determined that you would be His treasure – blameless and innocent before Him in love. (A. Rabe). Take the time to read this post... it will bless your heart.

love and peace...
