Garden Digest: November 2013!

Every month, the design team from 2peasinabucket does a blog hop (see some of the past ones here)! In this month's garden girl blog hop, we are doing something different! Every one participating did a little video chatting away and answering a few questions! I think it will be so cool to see these little videos!

here's the list of this blog hop!

It's quite awkward to make a video while you are technically talking to yourself, so forgive me if I am too silly in this video. ha!

This coming month i will have a bunch of videos coming to two peas! I am currently working on a video that will be up this coming Tuesday for "in the mood to scrap". I also had my second ARTCLASS come out and I am so happy that everyone loves it! The first class is on sale right now (-25%). Here's a sneak peek at my new class. It was so much fun to put this class together and I can honestly say that the one who benefitted the most was me. I am truly energized to create pages right now and I hope the same will happen to you when you take it!

I am really inspired by the pages that's being created from my class. I love looking through the class gallery and I do get all warm and fuzzy when I see the beautiful creations. What makes me even more happy is when someone say that they have tried something that they have always wanted to try but was too scared to. I created a pinterest board to keep all those beautiful pages together! Thank you so much for every single person that bought the class!

I recently did a scrapbook room VIDEO tour and those of you who saw it will know that I really don't have that much stuff. This was not always the case... back in the day when I worked for Making memories, I had so much stuff it was overwhelming to say the least. I love buying my own products to scrapbook with! here's a few things that is making their way over to my house as we speak.

Today I doing a give away! leave me a comment (maybe answer one of the questions in the video - I would love to hear your take) and you can win a gift card from 2peas worth $20! This is always a great little gift... maybe you will buy a class or that stamp you've been looking for!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I love doing the garden digest and I am looking forward to sharing my videos with you over the coming month. Please make sure you are subscribed to my Youtube channel as I am planning on uploading some other layout tutorials there too!

smiles (and hop over to Lilith's blog now!)

ps... the winner of the artclass 2 give away is...Ruth Tacoma! Please email me your two peas name and I will give your name to the powers on there!

Lovely video! Thank you for sharing! Organization really helps me, I a finding that if I out together kits ahead of time, it saves me time looking for more things and I can easily tell when the layout is finished.m.

New Years resolution ... organize my scrap room - I know I am not as productive as I would like to be because I am not organized!

Thanks so much for sharing, Wilna! It was very fun to put a face with your many projects and classes!
I frequently start my creative process with a sketch or challenge and then find pictures and supplies that work for that project. I find that limiting myself really helps give me direction and helps keep me from getting stuck.
Thanks so much for the chance to win!

You hit the nail on the head when you said some people have a hard time starting which is me. I much rather prefer to start with a photograph like you suggested and work with a small group of materials. I'm not one that can do a layout without a picture.

Loved listening to your accent its beautiful. I have never seen your videos. :)

I love your videos. I'm sure if we brainstorm someone will come up with a connection between Dexter and Scrapbooking... His samples are like scrapbooks- memory keeping. I'm a sci-fi scrapper:)

LOVE your video, Wilna!! You were so cute, not awkward haha :) When I'm having trouble getting started on a page, I look at my board on Pinterest and get inspiration from other layouts I love, or I'll start with a sketch. Having the basic foundations of a page makes it go so much faster, and then I can focus on the part I love most, which is embellishing!!

Thank you for reminding us that the key to creating is organization!

Awe this was a cute video! One thing that I found really helpful from your room tour is the baskets you have in your closet to immediately get rid of supplies you know you won't use. In the past I have tried to use supplies that I was given or won that weren't exactly my style and it never works out. I plan to go through my stash and get rid of everything I know I will not use. It's just a waste of time and space trying to use it.

Love your video! You are so adorable! I haven't seen your scrap room tour, I can't wait to watch it. I need to start trying a mood board. It seems intimidating, but I love how you have utilized them in your work. Thanks for the chance to win this awesome giveaway!

You are too cute!! I love your clean, fresh studio. Unfortunately I'm a total scrap supply hoarder so mine could never look like that!! I totally second your tip (or third it as it originally came from Becky Higgins I guess) of grouping like supplies. I have been doing that for a couple years now and it definitely eases the scrapping process. You need a punch, you go to the punch drawer/basket/whatever. Best tip ever! Thanks for the giveaway. I just recently bought your Art Class I and am looking forward to diving into it soon! $20 would go a long way to getting me Art Class II!! :)

I usually start with the picture and from there pick 3 colors. I have everything sorted by color so that narrows down my supplies immensely.

Loving this bloghop...off to the next one! :)

Not an answer to one of the questions, but I have to say that I love how you have your mixed media supplies all in one basket. I'm definitely going to do that. Thanks for the tip.

"Categorize and Organize" definitely going to do more of this in my craft space. Also love the idea of a mixed media basket!

Hi, its awesome to put a face with a voice. Lovely work you daughter did with your hair and makeup. Love your tips. I am a beginner and for me its so difficult to start... and its hard to get off a pre selected sketch and just feel free to create. I am always afraid its not going to be pretty. But I end up always liking what I make. Weird, right?
Again thanks for the tips and for the chance to win!

great video! Your pages are some of the prettiest I've seen.
I just organized my scrap stuff over Labor Day weekend, and am SO much more creative. It's fun to scrap when you don't have to look for things. I am a single mother of three girls, and don't have large blocks of time, so I keep my current project in a pizza box-like container with all the stuff I need. I work as I can, ,here and there.
thanks! Mandylee

I loved your video :)... To answer a couple of the questions : I generally start a layout with either the photo or the most lovely pattern paper I just laid my hands on LOL. My little organisation tip is to keep all those tools that I use again and again very close to me. I have two small baskets on my table all the time, one with glue of all types, dimensionals, scissors, craft knife, paper piercer ... and another with small punches that I use over and over

Best time to create: after midnight.

You look lovely Wilna do not worry :-)!! I do saw your scrap space and it is beautiful and it is amazing how organizing you are. I also like to be organize. My start the process of create choosing the photo, the sketch, paper and embellishment.

jasmine said...

I love your mixed media basket! It looks so easy to pull out and use! I have a very very small space to use as my creative area (3/4 of a wall in my living room) so organization (and not having too much stuff) is HUGE for me. I'm still working on getting things really organized, but one tip I would give others is to utilize your vertical space. Using your wall to hang storage cups or peg board is really great for organizing small spaces!

Thank you for the giveaway and the video!

Unknown said...

Thanks for letting us see a glimpse into your life! That was so much fun! I recently got serious and purged a lot of stash that I admitted to myself I probably would never use. Now I surround myself with only things that I love and it really helps keep things orderly and actually helps my creativity too.

I watch Netflix while I scrapbook. TV shows without the commercials are the best. Especially if there are many years worth available.

I just finished re-doing my "Art Room" and realized I had forgotten about a ton of stuff!! I learned a lot about myself while cleaning and organizing.. I learned that if I can't see it I'm not going to use it.. So I purged till it hurt!! Lol!! Then I set up a rotation system, so I'm not getting bored with what I can see!! I like having less to work with because I'm really getting creative!! And what a waists to have beautiful things that aren't getting used!! Good luck to everyone, and Thank you!!
