Summer Guest Post: Wendy Antenucci

Hi my name is Wendy Antenucci and I am so excited to join you here today!  My family and I recently moved to FL the land of eternal summer, and I don't like heat, lol!  I am married to my wonderful hubby of almost 14 years and we have 6 kids, ranging from 11-1.  I am a SAHM and homeschooler so I scrap during my kids rest time to clear my mind and get me through the rest of the day.
I love quiet, I love to play my violin, and I love going to DisneyWorld.
I can't stand wasting time and you will always find me busy at something.
My hubby and I recently got on a health kick, so my new favorite food is Crispy chicken salad with honey mustard at Chili's!
I don't listen to much music unless my hubby has it on as I enjoy quiet time much more.
With 6 kids always with me I am always calling my "dudes" to come here!

Documenting the everyday
When I was thinking about what to share here on the blog I decided to go through my cut files from Wilna.  I was caught by this one with the quote, to live a creative life we must lose our fear of being wrong.  For me this sums up the month of July for myself perfectly and since I take the time to document who I am each month I decided to create a layout based on this sentiment.

When I make my monthly page about who I am, what I am feeling, my accomplishments or failures for that month I choose products that I love, things that make me happy and I throw caution to the wind.  I LOVE GOLD!  and so I began my page by cutting the quote and some flowers and frames out of the gold Silhouette sticker paper I had.  I added in a doily to make my page more girly and I misted with my favorite aqua color.  This was the basic block of my page and from there I can now embellish.

I chose a picture of me this month (actually the only picture of me, oops) and since the picture wasn't very good I printed it small but I used multiples to give some weight to my picture.  I added in die-cuts from My Mind's Eye Market Street and fussy cut some flowers to embellish the page in a triangular pattern.  I added in a gold frame at the top of my page to box my design in.

I added various leafy gold pieces entwined in the flower groups to bring your eyes down through the page.

I always leave my journaling to the end so that I can use it to balance my layout.  I love to keep white space on my page and to me this design was already finished, but there was something missing on the right side of the layout (not enough weight).  To give some weight to this area without making my design of the page change I draw in a few lines and add my journaling, enough weight to level the layout out, but not too bulky.

I also do Project Life for our family and since I had all these beautiful pieces out I kept going and created the next 2 week spread for our books.  To keep PL doable for me, I only make a 1 page spread a week (unless it is a special event and needs more).

To make my spreads coordinate I always choose one collection to work with and a few colors; for these weeks I used green (light and dark), gold, black and some red.

Here is a look at week 44, just a few everyday events.  I write on my pictures when it works.  I use stickers/chipboard/die-cuts/wood veneer.  I keep it simple and tell my story.

And a close-up of week 45 where the focus was our youngest starting to crawl!

Thank you so much for joining me today; I hope you will take the time and document your life today, you might be surprised what you find!
