winter wonderland

and it's still snowing
beautiful

i only have a thought for today: Paul wrote in Fil4: 8&9 Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

i am
so
so
happy.

ps. oh, and just so you know ALL my RAKS are in the mail! YAY! so keep watching the mail man! and let me know when it comes!

oh my weekend greatness!!!

we had such a fantastic time in Saskatoon this weekend. (this is us @ Calories having lamb stew and creme Brule -only to name a few delicious dishes!!) i said to Jaku more than once it felt as if we were whisked away to europe for a few days. down town Saskatoon is gorgeous. we stayed in the Sheraton hotel and our room had a river view and a view of the Bella Bessborough hotel which is magnificent. we dined and chatted and had a fantastic time with our friend Johann who is also writing an exam today with Jaku (Hold your thumbs!!) his dear wife (and my good friend) is in South Africa at the moment visiting family so we kept him company and he made us laugh. ALL the time. continuously. just fun.i had a great time scrapping at JUST SCRAP IT and the girls there was just so warm and (forgiving hee-hee) and eager to just scrap!! Ralna and Deb (the owners) are GREAT and warm girls and i am honored to know them. I bought a gorgeous necklace that Ralna made, And i am not a jewelry person AT ALL. but now i am. i also got a lot of scrapbooking-greatness-goodies. YAY! can't wait to get my hands at it tomorrow. this picture here was taken by johann @ Spadina... a great lively noisy vibrant place where we dined for about 3 hours. i had creme brule again. that must be my favorite dessert ever. yum! the fact that jaku is wearing the same shirt 2 days in a row was due to the fact that he had an exam on his mind and not a wardrope! oh and btw, i am having a very brief black t shirt phase. no Maryna, don't worry, it's over already. but yes, those are 3 different tees on the pics. so, ROXANNE, i hope this post satisfy your curiosity...hee-hee... you just send me THE sweetest emails!! and i want to ask the girls who attended the scrap weekend to PLEASE email me some of the pics!! that's all for now!! love and a kiss, Wilna x

good morning!!

i posted this page a day or two ago and swapped it with another one. so i thought to put it back. this was my second attempt at the page... long story there. Anyway, on the idol page last week the people could ask some questions and there is one that i would love to discuss today, as i feel is very relevant. For me anyway. Jeannie asked when you scrapbook how long does it usually take for you to decide how you want your layout. Not very long. Why? I am not afraid to make a mistake. Rebecca Sower once said there is no scrapbook police. I would do the same page twice if I did not like the first try. But I would never throw the first one away or think bad about it. Remember it is only paper. And very importantly every single page you do, whether you like it or not, helps you grow as a scrapbooker. I have done some pages that I did not like and then my best ideas for another project will come from that “disappointment”. Nothing you do creatively wise is ever a waste. Never.

i actually chuckle everytime i am creative. there come a point in the creative process where your page/ project looks like a disaster. it's when you go beyond that point and just keep on working that things comes together again.

I hoped that made sense. THE WEEKEND IS HERE!!! YAY!! my husband is writing an examn on Monday (awww!). he has to do 3 examns, this one is number 2. i am teaching at JUST SCRAP IT in saskatoon tomorrow while jaku has a medical seminar also in the city. the rest of the time we are going to have dinner at our favorite restaurant CALORIES, go to the movies and just have a great time. you must have a great weekend too!!!

love and a kiss

the girl's night out...

they had a fun-fun-fun night @ their Christian school that they call hallelujah-night. With fun and games and a WHOOPING bag of candy! and they looked adorable. i just had to show you this picture. it's getting cold here in Saskatchewan, the river is starting to freeze. we had some snow fall last night and even now there's some flurries. i got ALI's news letter today and i am taking her advise: to take a break. do some house cleaning. having coffee with friends that i have neglected these past 4 weeks. visiting with my parents. just easy stuff. I have a few assignments (one from MM) that i want to start. a lot of people have asked me what i have won... i don't know!! i will go and read the "rules" again! i love being home. i enjoy the peace and quiet. today i am thankful to just be... i love just being a mom and a wife. do some laundry and cook a meal.

thought for today: i love psalm 30. the last verse says: You did it: you changed wild lament into whirling dance; You ripped off my black mourning band and decked me with wildflowers. I'm about to burst with song; I can't keep quiet about you. God, my God, I can't thank you enough.
