my he{ART}

<span onclick=

it's sunday night and I had a great day. we arrived back from Edmonton late last night and what a great time we had. IKEA is all it's cracked up to be and we did a fair amount of shopping... bookcases, a desk for Jaku, some bed frames for the 2 little girls. And lots of small and amusing stuff.

I got some cute cards from IKEA and I will be drawing a couple of names and send those out along with a note from me...probably sometime tomorrow.

This page is one of my favorite pages ever. I was on ALI's blog and she asked a question which prompted me to fish this layout from the archives and post it here... more for my enjoyment than yours...hee-hee... sorry! This thing about he{ART} is just so significant to me. One thing is that I have been drawing hearts as long as I can remember. Since I was a little girl, hearts were my doodling friends and still are. I have a very big heart in terms of people. I love deeply. Fiercely, fearlessly. Heart and soul lovin. Heart is also a deeply spiritual symbol in my life. The word is full of heart scriptures. The condition of our hearts are of the utmost importance to God. Out of it springs the issues of life. Our faith is seated in our heart. Jesus lived in our hearts. We must guard our hearts. God will give us the desires and secret petitions of our hearts (Psalm 37). Heart is just the center of faith and love and hope.

And in my heart settles and rests my ART. You know, I am not sure that there can be a more personal and intense, even satisfying type of expression to me than to write/paint/scrap what's in my heart. I have no desire to paint a still life (even though i CAN do it and have been trained to do it and have done it) But, if I can impart some life, some faith, some life-giving hope, some wholeness and joy, i am living my dream. And that, my dear friends, are what scrapbooking and creating is all about to me.

this is an exciting week for me (and you, as you will see later in the week) lots of wonderful things happening. I had a chuckle while reading Elizabeth's blog. Man, that woman is a genius and her kids too!! Really one of my fav blogs to read.

Talk again tomorrow on some amazing revelation I got on the road this weekend.
love

Welcome home. Love the awesome page - your art rocks!!! I was just grinning as I read your words ... I thought I was the only one who has doodled hearts all her life. To this day Valentines day is my favorite holiday because of the HEARTS and LOVE!!!! In high school my notebooks and even my shoes had hearts drawn on them and no my 4 year old son is drawing nicely shaped hearts too. YEA!!!
