tea for two.

One thing that life has taught me is to find joy in the little things! Like setting a tea tray for two. With cute cupcakes (thank you Safeway). A dear friend visited me this afternoon and I knew she appreciated this simple gesture.
What little things make you happy? Tell me. I might pick a name that might win something scrapbookish.
Have a good weekend!
Peace and love

Tea time is very special to me too. I'm not commenting to win anything but to tell you my 'tea' story. When I was younger, we would go to town every Saturday for shopping and piano lessons, and when we were done we would go to Granny's for tea. (We always called it "tea pee" because that is what always happen after.) I have always loved teacups and saucers and have collected my own, but the ones that are special are the ones I inherited from Granny when she passed away.

My husband does not drink coffee. I recently gave it up. I got my husband into the habit of drinking tea and now he leaves a cup ready for me when i get up for work in the morning. so sweet.

What a lovely tea tray. I'm sure your friend felt special. I LOVE a hot cup of coffee on a cool evening, sitting in my backyard talking about the day with my sweet hubby.

Since the birth of my 2 year old granddaugher I have more of a appreciation for little things. It is the little things that make children happy. If I had to pick one it would be: getting up early on Saturday/Sunday mornings (while my husband still sleeps) and going out on our porch and listening. Simply listening. Little listening makes me happy. Thank you Wilna!

What makes me happy? Oh so many things. . . Diet Coke, my family, a good soft cookie, new shoes, The Office, going shopping, taking great pictures, completing a project, being productive, chatting with friends, my puppies, hugs from my sons. . . I could go on and on. . .

Funny you ask this Wilna! A little thing that makes me happy is when I come here to look at your beautiful pictures! They are always so happy and pretty.

There are luckily so many little things that make me happy.
For example to look at your blog. I had a smile on my face when I saw the beautiful picture of your coffee tray.
And it brightens my day, when I can laugh together with my little godchild (2 years old), can watch her smile and discover life.
And not at least it makes me happy when I realise once more, how happy I am in life and how much I am presented with god friends and friends and the fact that I can appreciate the little things...

Love time to appreciate nature - up close. How the littles get a thrill from watching ladybugs, praying mantis and other insects. Observing untamed and ungroomed habitats (however rare). It's truly inspiring and restorative to appreciate God's creation.

Thanks!

My favorite thing to do is to sit wrapped up in a quilt with my favorite scrapbook magazine with a cup of earl gray tea, in a quiet house, all alone.

I love having tea with my children. My son and I have been having tea together since he was little. It is a special bond we share, even though he is a teenager. How lucky I am to have such a boy.

Every time I see my baby's face looking up at me with a huge smile, just after waking up, makes my heart melt. I love your blog Wilna and thank you for the inspiration!

How nice the tea tray is!
What makes me happy? Everything i can think of what makes me happy comes from God.
A nice picture with children, old people or any people for that matter! The things people do because of the love of God. Like your teatray, young people helping older people, charity, you name it!

Yeah..for sure; it is God that makes me happy!

Be blessed!

Die reuk van lente in die lug, die reuk van jasmyn in my tuin (reg by my kamervenster), die klanke van my 2 dogtertjies wat mekaar se geselskap geniet en lekker saamspeel, my "tall dark & handsome" manlief wat sy koerant lees op die sitkamerbank, en om saam met my vriendinne om ons kombuistafel te sit en teedrink en hartsake gesels.
Liefde vir julle almal - ingrid

... it was Spring Day, at Nursery School, this week. We bought cupcakes in time, but really wanted the flowers to be from our garden ...
So, before anyone arrived, my son & I wandered down to the place where the jasmine grows. He LOVED the fragrance and just that we were allowed to pick it. Then we chose one bright yellow nasturtium to pick. I showed him how to wrap the stem in wet tissue, to keep it fresh. We spoke about how they are edible and taste peppery. I glowed, as I watched him treasure that bloom for almost an hour. How simply delightful !!!

Simple things like TEA-and MEMORIES, I clearly remember sitting having tea with my Dad (now passed) and looking out from the verandah overthe lawns and just listening to the silence and the bush - I miss it all so but they are HAPPY memories

What makes me happy is sitting side by side with my hubby of a little over 51 years, drinking coffee, talking, or reading a book aloud. His vision is very poor so I read books aloud that he likes, and then we comment of them.

Beautiful post.

I was just thinking, before i read this, that i just love walking round my garden this time of year. The trees are greening up, the roses budding and everything looks new and filled with anticipation of what the spring will bring. I feel so complete and at peace when doing this.

A "little" thing (yet a big thing) that makes me happy is when a friend says "Im praying for you" and you didn't even have to ask for prayer. A little and good thing. have a wonderful day!

there are so many little things that make me happy, but the first one that came to mind was this. My four year old son running up to me saying "mommy mommy mommy" to get my attention and once he has it he simply says "i love you" and runs off. It is as if whatever he was doing mattered no more until he expressed his love for me. I love that and it always makes my heart warm

Since we are recent empty nesters, I wanted to do something together with my husband every night. So...We plan some little special snack for the late night and I pretty it up on a tray and we have that time to just enjoy our new freedom and not dwell on the negative. Something like, some leftover steak that I put on small skewers with some veggies, a block of specialty cheese (that we've never had before), and some crackers & a couple of glasses of wine or such...
