This past week we moved house. These are the lessons i learned:
- we are not 20 years old any more. Jaco went to the chiropractor and i have a callus under my foot. we went to bed early every. night. this. week.
- Think twice before drilling a hole because someday you have to patch it up and paint it again. I am amazed at how many holes we had to patch up!
- Take time to decide where everything should go
- Be more thankful for friends who brought food and drinks and helped moved. I love you. i do, i do, i do.
- I also love my friends who just sat with me while i unpacked boxes. Love your conversations. I vow to be THAT friend more.
- I am more thankful for routine. I missed it more than anything else. when you are in between houses everything stands still.
- Move your teacups and tea pots first and see the glee on your friend's face when you set a pretty tray in the midst of the chaos.
- I never thought that being able to do laundry would make me so happy!
And I adore my new scrapbook room. My praises are thank you's. I am so grateful.
love and a kiss

Glad it all went so very well, even though it is always a trauma. I love your hint on the pretty tray - nice to have some order and civilisation in the midst of apparent chaos!
Congrats on the move! Hope you are settled for a long time to come - I know my first thought after a move is "I never want to do that again!"
So are you closer to the river now? I lived in Nipawin for a year and loved spending time by the river. Dream of living near water again someday.
So happy you're on the "other side" of the move now. Unpacking and decorating anew are the best parts of a move. Enjoy the process. Can't wait to see some photos! I'm interested in hearing what your "wish list" was - the things that make this home everything you always wanted. Blessings, Wilna! :)
I am glad you are happy in your new house...soon to feel like home as you put your personal touches into/onto? it. Sounds wonderful. Always enjoy reading your blog and love your creativity! Love and blessings,Lara, a fellow south african. Getting a chance at all to watch any rugby? ;-)
Ditto on all the above ... 8 months later & still working on our routines. Love my sorted laundry too, enjoy your new spaces & be blessed there, C.
Enjoy your new home...
That makes me happy to hear your that your so content! I love when we find that happy place! God is good. I can't wait to see what you do with your new scrap room.
I hate moving. Sounds like your went as smoothly as it gets, though. Kudos!
Happy New Home!!
My husband said after our last move..."That IS THE last move I will make!"
I understood completely!!
