Julie has been such an artful inspiration in the scrapbooking community. She's been working with the Crafters workshop to bring us these wonderfully creative stencils... made of a poly material which means it can take a lot of hammering and paints and glues and other stuff. For this Blog hop, the Leaf grid stencil is featured and any of you who know me, know I love a grid. Love!
So, i experimented quite a bit with different media and in the end i used a wet paint technique... where I paint over the stencil with wet paint (in an aqua green color) and i loved how it flooded below the stencil. Then I painted it again with white paint (less wet) and then i used a grey marker and drew some leaves over the white paint. In the end, I used some molding paste and just added a bit here and there for some texture. as you can see, the effect of the page is soft with splashes of color from the Amy Tan embellishments.
