Lady, just say thanks.

more to the point: This morning The Doctor and I went for coffee at a favorite coffee shop. It was a little emotional as I just dropped off Mac at the Vet to... um... make him less of a male dog. Sorry Mac. But when you lifted your leg against my couch, you know you had it coming. So, we were in line to get coffee. The young woman in front of us wanted to pay for her coffee but her wallet was at home. So i said: Let me buy your coffee! It was only a couple of dollars. And she just refused being probably a bit embarrassed. she scurried to find small change in her bag and in her car and worked up a sweat. Meanwhile, she could just have said Thanks! and received a blessing! while I was looking at her scurrying, the Lord reminded me how many people (and yes, me too) just cant say THANKS and receive His precious, priceless gift in life. we scurry and strive to do it ourselves.
so, lady, if you are reading this, let me buy you a coffee next time. ALL you have to do is say thanks. And even if you don't say thanks, i still will do it.

1 Peter 1: 3-5What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming is HERE (in Christ) when you'll have it all—life healed and whole.

Oh Wilna, you are so right. We DO miss the blessing all too often for whatever our reasons may be. Sometimes we just want to be self-sufficient. Sometimes it's pride. Sometimes it's just stupidity! =) Whatever it is, it's never right and we 'pay' for it somehow. Thanks so much for this post. It will serve as a good reminder in my mind the next time I find myself ready to pass up a blessing. I hope God continues to fill your heart and home with His wonders and blessings. Thanks for turning around and sharing them with so many! Love to you. And you KNOW I would have coffee with you if I could!!

Some people truly just can't believe anyone could ever be that nice to them, it's a shame, but they just can't figure out WHY you would do that for them, just as we can't sometimes figure out WHY God would do for us too...so nice of yoU! I would have just paid for it while she went to her car HA!

For so many of us it is much easier to give than to receive and God has blessing to offer in both. I know people at church who bring meals to everyone who is sick or new babies etc, but will not receive a meal when they need it. That is denying someone else the blessing of giving. I think this is something ALOT of us need to work on.

Thanks 4 sharing! You are so right about this! Eventhough the woman did not took your offer, she simply can't forget about it. I say..the simple offer stands for a lifetime (eternal? perhaps :D)

Bless you!

Wow! Your words just hit me upside the head! Hubby and I were just having a discussion about this today. About how it is so hard to receive when others want to bless you. Sometimes we just need to recognize God's way of blessing us and not rob that from someone else! Thanks for your words!
